MELS Studio — one of Canada’s largest film and television production facilities — was exploring how virtual production could integrate into their existing stage infrastructure. WRA Studio was brought in to conduct real-time content creation R&D, testing the technical and creative boundaries of LED volume workflows before MELS committed to a full-scale virtual production offering.

We designed and created some notch content in collaboration with Mels Studios and Charlie Leroy. This project showcases the potential of virtual production for car ads by utilizing cutting-edge technology and real-time content creation. Mels Studios, Charlie Leroy and I worked together to create immersive extended-reality virtual environments using Notch and displayed them in an LED volume. This project demonstrates the capabilities of these technologies and their potential for use in the advertising industry, specifically for creating engaging and immersive car ads.

R&D established the technical and creative boundaries for MELS’ virtual production offering. Real-time content creation workflows validated at scale.

WRA helped us understand what virtual production could actually deliver in our stages. Essential groundwork.
